Ronny A. Maier  –  Regional Vice President, Southern Europe and Maghreb

Ronny A. Maier is the Regional Vice President for Marriott’s hotel portfolio in Southern Europe and the Maghreb Region. In this role, he oversees both managed and franchised hotels within the Premium and Select Service Brands throughout the region.

Originally from Austria, Ronny studied at the Salzburger Hotel Management School in Bad Hofgastein and began his hotel career in 1984 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich. With over 40 years of experience in the hotel industry, Ronny has held various operational leadership roles across Europe and the Middle East.

Throughout his career, Ronny has served as General Manager at several prestigious hotels, including the Renaissance Hotel Barcelona, the Marriott Hotels in Amsterdam and Leipzig, and Marriott’s Vacation Club in Marbella. He has also held several above-property management roles in Information Technology (IT) and Project Management.

In 2015, Ronny transitioned from General Manager to Market Vice President for the U.K. Provinces and Scotland. He later took on the role of Area Vice President for the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Nordics region. In his most recent position, he served as Area Vice President for Marriott’s managed Premium and Select hotel portfolio in Western Europe and the Maghreb.
