Michel Miserez - Chief Financial Officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Marriott International

Michel Miserez is Chief Financial Officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Marriott International. Michel is responsible for leading the EMEA finance function in alignment with the company’s strategic priorities that drive profitability, preference, and growth.

Michel started his career with Marriott International over 30 years ago at Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Paris. He held various roles in operations and finance, working his way up to senior finance positions in several European countries before relocating to Hong Kong to lead the operations finance function overseeing Marriott International hotels in Southeast Asia, including Japan and Korea.

In 2006, Michel returned to Europe as Vice President, Finance, Europe, a role that expanded in 2009 to become Vice President, Finance Business Partner, Europe, responsible for merging and setting up Europe’s new Continent finance structure. In 2012, Michel decided to move back to operations and held positions such as Area Vice President for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Area Vice President for Western Europe’s Luxury Brand portfolio, and Area Vice President for Western Europe & Maghreb, overseeing all brands.

Michel is fluent in four languages and graduated from the European University with a Bachelor in Business Administration and International Marketing, and a Master in Business Administration and International Business. He is currently based between Marriott International’s Frankfurt and London regional offices. When not at work Michel loves to go out on his mountain bike or spend time playing golf.
