Lights, Camera, Action! W London Announces the Launch of New Monthly W Film Club

W London has announced the launch of W Film Club, an event series of film screenings set to take place every month. The W Film Club will take guests on an intimate cinematic journey in the hotel’s stylish Screening Room. Set in the heart of Leicester Square, home to London’s iconic film premieres, W London owns the stage in the epicentre of the city and is the perfect place to tune into the culture of film and cinema in London.

In partnership with Dartmouth Films, the first installment of W Film Club will kick off on 10th May with a screening of Antidote, the latest short film from British filmmaker, Marc Silver. Antidote is a powerful exploration of Indigenous shamans and their ancestral relationship to the Amazon rainforest, its spirit world and curing traditions. Following the screening, Marc Silver will host a Q&A session inviting film fans to discover the power of film. Dartmouth Films are the pioneers in Britain of independent documentaries—finding new ways of funding, making and distributing films which have impact.

The next screening will be on 6th July in celebration of Pride, with My Genderation London Trans Pride Film, an engaging celebration of trans lives through a selection of carefully chosen clips and short films from all over the planet.

On 9th August, there will be a screening of Women Behind The Wheel in partnership with Dartmouth Films. The film follows Cat and Hannah, two British women in their twenties, that take on the gruelling 3000km drive along Central Asia's Pamir Highway — the second highest international road on Earth. It is a story of female emancipation and solidarity across different cultures that have a lot more in common than they might have thought. After the screening there will be a Q&A session with both Cat and Hannah.

W London’s Screening Room is designed with luxurious reclining velvet chairs, ambient lighting and the latest projection technology. Seating up to 38 guests, the Screening Room offers the ultimate cinematic experience. Positioned next to The Perception Bar, guests can enjoy a pre or post screening cocktail and mouth-watering bites.

Echoing the creativity of the film industry, W London is where vibrant Soho mixes with the experiential West End. The hotel’s 192 guestrooms and suites are designed with their own inviting details, and an unwavering dedication to comfort. The signature W beds along with the rainforest shower and luxe spa products make W London the ultimate location to recharge and relax from the hustle and bustle of the Capital.

W Film Club tickets are priced from £12 and include a box of complimentary popcorn. Seat and Sip tickets are priced at £22 and include a box of popcorn and a drink from the W Lounge bar, with a choice of beer, house wine or a soft drink.
