Sheraton Hotels & Resorts reveals transformation of Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center
- 30 March 2022
Amsterdam, March 30, 2022 – Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 extraordinary brands unveils the renovated Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center. Over the past year the hotel has been through a major renovation to create a new environment that creates an intuitive and holistic experience with places for people to connect, be productive and feel part of a community. Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is currently undergoing a brand transformation at properties across the world, and Sheraton Amsterdam now showcases this new vision as one of the very first hotels in Europe.
An open and local design
Drawing on the Sheraton brand roots as a community hub for locals and guests at flagship locations globally, the new public areas at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel have been designed for travelers, locals and hotel guests alike to meet, work together or to relax at any time in the hotel’s restaurants and bars, at the co-working tables or in the several meeting spaces.
In the 417 fully renovated rooms and suites, guests are welcomed into a bright, well-lit space with warm, residential appeal, comprised of soft finishes and light wood tones. The rooms have been reimagined with new tools for productivity, such as a corner sofa with working table, integrated power and charging stations and layered lighting; while still retaining some of the classic Sheraton signature amenities, including the luxurious Sheraton Sleep Experience bed. The guest bathroom has also been completely redesigned with new modern walk-in showers and Sheraton bath amenities.
The details of the hotel’s interior also bring in accents of the hotel’s location - for example, the design of the new guest rooms is inspired by the Dutch flower fields, grasslands and the architecture around Schiphol Airport. The three crosses from the coat of arms of Amsterdam are reflected in the design of the reception area.
With the transformation, the hotel introduces the Sheraton Studios to the center of the hotel lobby. These Studios are flexible spaces for meetings or brainstorming sessions in a private setting, yet still connected to the buzz of the hotel lobby. The studios are available to both hotel guests and to co-workers at Schiphol Airport.
Paul Chevalier, General Manager at Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center, says: " Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has a 24 year’s history in this exceptional location, and we are proud to build on this legacy by debuting the newly renovated product, showcasing the brand’s fresh and contemporary design updates as part of its new vision. At the Sheraton Amsterdam we are constantly listening to our guests and looking for opportunities to fine-tune their needs and experiences. With our new design we have created a sense of community within a major European airport hub, bringing people together in the best located hotel at Schiphol Airport, only a short 2-minutes’ walk away from the airport’s terminals. We’re really looking forward to welcoming back familiar faces and new visitors to the new look of the hotel, over the next few months.”
Three restaurants: suitable for every occasion
From speedy lunches to sociable dinners; Commune Restaurant introduces a new all-day dining concept to Schiphol. At Commune guests can enjoy a variety of dining experiences such as a veg-forward menu with local inspired beverages and locally sourced ingredients. Commune also has an extensive wine, cocktail and beer list with tempting non-alcoholic options and local varieties such as Hoevenekum wine from Maastricht, Texels Skuumkoppe beer, an own Commune Gin and many more.
The Gate Bar is the heart of the hotel and is ideal for a quick meeting, energizing lunch or drink before or after a flight. The bar is situated in the 30-meter-high atrium of the hotel, flooded with natural light. The menu offers a combination of Asian Fusion food and Sheraton classics.
The Stripes Restaurant offers an upscale dining experience within the airport. Executive Chef Melvin Salimin has created an eclectic menu with a focus on grilled dishes from the famous Josper Grill. The name and logo of Stripes are inspired by the pattern which occurs when the meat or fish hits the grill. It also stands for the stripes left behind by the planes in the sky above Schiphol Airport.
To celebrate the hotel’s transformation, Sheraton Amsterdam Airport is offering a special opening offer to experience the renovated Sheraton guestroom including access to the Sheraton Club and a welcome drink at Commune. Book now via this link.
