Liquid Art System on show at The St. Regis Florence with the artworks by Seo, Coderch&Malavia, Bosco

Florence, January 2023 The St. Regis Florence, awarded as the first hotel in Florence by Travel & Leisure World's Best Awards 2022, is a place of choice for hospitality and gastronomy, a perfect combination of culinary tradition and an impeccable and personalized service in the heart of the Renaissance city.

Starting from January 2023, on the occasion of Pitti Uomo, until April, 30th 2023, the hotel in collaboration with Liquid Art System, Franco Senesi's gallery brand, will host selected artworks in its common areas, such as those by Korean artist Seo Young-Deok, Spanish duo Coderch & Malavia and the Italian sculptor Giacinto Bosco.

The collaboration between Liquid Art System and The St. Regis Florence aims to attract an audience of collectors, artists and lovers of beauty, in a journey of continuous evolution of the city becoming more and more "influenced" by the Contemporary and of internationalization of the gallery that constantly faces new and challenging perspectives.

The gallery, based in Capri and with important exhibition spaces in Positano and Ravello, offers a contemporary touch to the hotel's charm, combining the interiors with the expertise of sculptors who exhibit skilful material works, exploring the relationship between human figures, often life-size sculptures, and the surrounding environment. The works will be available to the guests of the hotel and to all those who want to come in and admire them, as well as to enjoy a cocktail at the Winter Garden Bar or for a gourmet experience at the Winter Garden Restaurant, where Chef Gentian Shehi's creations will be served. Another enjoyable break is the St. Regis Tea Ritual: a journey into the world of Dammann Frères guided by the Tea Sommelier and paired with the delights by the Pastry Chef. To round off the day, the St. Regis Evening Ritual: an exclusive aperitif with finger foods and a glass of bubbles, served with the unique ritual of sabrage, every day from 7 pm to 8 pm.

In the hotel's majestic lobby lounge we can admire Travolti dalla Luna and Altalena, by Giacinto Bosco, while next to the soft sofas of the elegant library, visitors can admire Kymo, by the duo Coderch & Malavia, a bronze sculpture in a bright blue colour.
In the decorated wall of the foyer leading to the Winter Garden restaurant, Meditation, by Seo Young-Deok, stands to welcome guests.

Luna Caprese, Altalena piccolina and Travolti dalla luna media by Giacinto Bosco.
The Sicilian artist's works - all figurative in nature - recall the shapes and the materials that have always been used in the Western artistic tradition. This feature makes the sculptures extremely clear to the spectator. Bosco's artistic expertise - which comes from the ancient tradition of “lost-wax” bronze casting - has been modernised thanks to his knowledge of more modern and industrial techniques and materials. From an iconographic point of view, his sculptures are not individual figures or single forms,
but groups of one or more figures with objects. These are used by Bosco as mediating elements, able to clarify the action performed by the single figure or the relationship between the two figures: they are concise elements, with an essential shape, selected for their symbolic value. They are archetypal forms: the chair, as a symbol for the stability and balance of the body; the ladder, as a symbol for ascent; the rope, as a symbol of “capture” or sentimental bonding; the moon as a symbol of excellence, of romantic love, and so on. Bosco, by executing each of his creations according to the technical standards of lost-wax bronze, expresses pure feelings common to all, such as love, awe, play. His sculptures are stories, often inspired by poetry, they are romantic tales that communicate extremely well with the viewer. Their power is closely linked to aesthetics, to the simplicity of the message that is delivered.

Coderch&Malavia's bronze sculptures are able to give a clear feeling of movement: a four-handed work by Joan and Javier who are able to give shape to the psychological analysis of the subject, full of feelings and desires. Kymo, is an elegant figure crouched in a plastic pose, her hair caressed by the wind. In the work of the Spanish duo, the focus is on human nature and the research for excellence and the material is bronze. Based on real models, the sculptures show not only a figurative result, but also the celebration of different human attitudes towards life.

Meditation 182 by Seo Young-Deok
Seo, who has been represented by Liquid for about a decade, attracted the public right from the beginning with works made of iron chains welded together by recycling bicycles and industrial machinery. The human body is the focus of Young-Deok Seo. The Korean artist tells stories about people's lives with the use of human figures. For him, the human being is essential and is at the centre of his works. Most of his sculptures are naked bodies, made by working hard to weld steel: the human bodies are not built by rubbing and pressing pieces of iron but fused together joined piece by piece. Young-Deok Seo follows the production from start to end, from drawing to modelling to casting and welding.

"Exhibiting the works of our artists in an excellent location such as The St. Regis Florence is an incredible opportunity for us and we could not have wished for a better partner in the city of Florence to spread the message of contemporary art by showing outside our Galleries the beautiful and attractive works of the artists we proudly represent," commented Franco Senesi, CEO and founder of Liquid art system.

Domenico Colella, General Manager of The St. Regis Florence, said: "Being a partner of Liquid Art System means opening the doors to contemporary art and bringing it to travellers from all over the world who are guests of The St. Regis Florence, further enriching their experience of staying in the city that is the symbol of excellence of Renaissance art and culture."

The St. Regis Florence promotes the experience of enjoying art for international and Florentine guests by creating for the occasion the cocktail "The Artist", based on Pink Grapefruit Gin, Italicus (bergamot rosolio) and lime and lemon juice, with an orange twist, created by the team of bartenders to combine the taste of good drinking with the enjoyment of the works. At the Winter Garden Bar, open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., guests will enjoy St. Regis Florence rituals, the Brunello Bloody Mary: a local interpretation of the iconic St. Regis Bloody Mary. The St. Regis Florence's exclusive cocktail is inspired by the city and the surrounding Tuscan countryside. It includes a grappa made from the same grapes used for one of Tuscany's most famous wines, Brunello di Montalcino, which gives this drink a unique, slightly “earthy” flavour with a hint of sweetness.

Liquid art system

Liquid art system is the circuit of galleries with exhibition spaces in Capri, Positano and Ravello, founded by Franco Senesi in 2000. With a "glocal" approach to the promotion of contemporary art, Liquid looks to the global market, without forgetting local contexts. Liquid's mission is to recover the techniques and traditions of the artists' individual territories of origin, bringing universal themes and international messages to the exhibition.

Halfway between local and global, the gallery brand wants to respond to the evolution of the "art system", responding to the rapid economic changes of new markets and the expansion of technology and information technology. The different venues host public and private exhibitions in Italy and abroad and are involved in projects and events, such as the major art fairs in Miami, New York, London and Istanbul. Liquid Art System represents internationally known artists and is an important point of launch for new talents of the Contemporary, impactful and scenic works that pay homage to beauty, that excite, communicating directly and immediately with the public. The galleries, located in some of the most sought-after destinations in Southern Italy, are marked by figurative artistic research that combines aesthetics and technical expertise, linking the charm of the exhibition venues with the communicative power of the works.
